Ancient Greece

We've had fun studying Ancient Greece in History. We use Story of the World: Ancient Times. We listened to stories of Ancient Greece, we held our own Olympics and were awarded with laurel leaf crowns and we built our own Parthenons.

Angus Lost

We are using Before Five in a Row for our Pre-School curriculum.  This last book we read was Angus Lost.  We had lots of fun with this book.  We created art with our silhouettes like the artwork in the book, we read in the bible about how God is always with us even when we are lost.  We are never alone.  We discussed Possessives.  We baked a pie and talked about wedges.  We talked about curiosity.  We explored a cave.  We learned about A for Angus and D for dog.  We talked about dog safety.  We talked about where milk comes from and even milked a cow.

Some of our favorite and most creative things come from Before Five in a Row.  We have a lot more field trips and have so much fun.  We make a lot of memories and I get to do things with my kids that I love to do and have a hard time thinking of on my own.  This is how I imagined homeschool being. This LINK is a good place to learn about this curriculum and get a ton of great ideas for activities.

Old Irontown Ghostown

The girls have been quite sick lately. We decided to get out of the house and go for a drive. We ended up in a ghost town that was one of the first settlements in our area. The iron mines are what originally brought people here so it was fun to see something historical.
